"Worth the Wait," a PowerPoint presentation created by Scott and White Memorial Hospital and the Scoot Sherwood and Brindley Foundation of Temple Texas, is delivered. It covers sex education, anoatomy and physiology, sexually transmitted diseases and related self esteem issues. The presentation stresses the importance to make the decision to abstain from early sexual activity as a healthy choice. This presentation is formatted seperately for adults and teens.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Sexually transmitted diseases including HIV and AIDS and the most commonly known sexually transmitted infection and infestations as recognized by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
are discussed. Prevention, diagnosis and treatment are reviewed.
Physical and Sexual Abuse / Rape Prevention
The definition of abuse as well as prevention and treatment information is given. When possible, local police and support groups familiar with abuse are invited to elaborate on the legal and recovery aspects of these crimes.
Teenage Pregnancy Risks and Prevention
The risks and complications of teen pregnancy are discussed. The choice of delaying sexual activity, and thus teen pregnancy, is encouraged.
Drug Abuse / Substance and Alcohol Abuse Prevention
The deleterious efects of alcohol, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and marijuana on the body and brain are discussed. Physical and legal consequences are laid out in order to discourage usage and abuse of these substances. Nicotine (tobacco) is also discussed.

The importance of achieving education on a higher level to create the promise of a more comfortable, rewarding and valuable lifestyle for self, family and community is stressed. A comparison in wage earning at different grade earnings is made.
